Can anyone identify this plant please.

I think that is a primula denticulata alba getting ready to flower. The flower erupts from the centre before the leaves get going. early but its very mild.

I think its petasites japonicus (giant butterbur) we get it around here too. Its the first of the wildflowers to appear in February and March.

Yes it is Petasites and does look like P japonicas an introduced plant in the 19th century from china /japan etc [Giant butterbur]. Its a naturalised plant and common on road edges and dampish places.

Yes, that’s where I see it...damp verges. First time I saw it it took me hours to ID it! Couldn’t believe anything would flower this early other than a snowdrop!
