Hello gardeners, I have a fushia and a penstemon that are planted too close so need to separate, would you advise digging them both out to separate or if I just get one out which would be best to move please. They are not big but been there from young plants about 2 years.

I'd lift the penstemon as it is not a particular woody plant so it will transplant easier. If it falls into different pieces then each bit can be replanted.
If your ground isn't waterlogged or frozen then do it any time now.

You might find that you need to take both out in the end if their roots are entwined. But don't worry, they will both be fine as long as you get it done soon as SBG suggests above. :)

How do I say thanks?
