Mystery tree. Can somebody please help me to ID this small tree. It has been here since we moved in 17 years ago and it lives behind the shop in terrible conditions but looks happy and is blooming every year. It does not mind our winter rains or the summer droughts. I do not go there at all but see it from the upper deck. TIA.

the leaf reminds me of the wild cherries/plums we get in the UK. Prunus......
but they are trees not shrubs. does it bear fruit?
it is a pretty thing.

could be some one ate a cherry and threw the pip away and it may be a cultivar.

there are 100's of apple trees up and down the roads i the UK and many are from discarded cores.

The flower structure makes me think it's a flowering crabapple...probably also a bird's gift!

yes it could well be a crab. come the autumn you will have to go and check for fruit so we will all know for certain.
