Viburnum Kilimanjaro ... do you prune yours?

Answers

the RHS says
Pruning group 8. Tolerates hard renovative pruning but regrowth of horizontal tiers may initially be upright. Some vigorous upright shoots may need removing.

there is more info if you search pruning group 8.

Thank you Eileen.

We never pruned ours as it never got big enough to need it before dying!

Thanks Owd. My OH is keen for me to remove the central upright growing branch, but I feel that that would make the shrub bush out more sideways so I’m leaving well alone ... at least until next year šŸ™‚.

Oh, Sheila, I would not cut the upright growing branch.
It wold affect the "Killimanjaro look" and you might end up with just another Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum like mine (and yours in the previous garden). Anyway, that is my thinking.
