hi, i,ve taken any amount of seeds off upright petunia,s but my trailing petunia,s are coming to the end of season and though the flowers are dying off there are only tiny what look like seed pods but their smaller than a matchstick head and have been like that since they formed, and when they dry out and turn brown they just turn to dust. any advice greatly appreciated, thankyou.

welcome to GoY.
The trailing petunia may have just been too dry for seed formation this year.

Many of the modern trailing varieties are sterile hybrids, and don't produce seeds--growers start them from cuttings.
