I'm thinking of moving 2 Clematis...would this be wise at this time of year or should I wait until early Spring?

either will do as long as there is no frost.
try to keep as big a root ball as possible though.

You can do it now if you wish. I have found Clematis to be a very tenacious plant. Just remember the old saying.....Clematis like their feet in the shade and their head in the sun.
