My rhubarb plant, thirty years old to my knowledge is very abundant this year and has a very thick flower stalk about four feet high in the middle, also a smaller plant has this two, only put in last year.

i dont know if or where to cut this off. some say your should some say leave it.

should i take it out from the bottom or near the top above the highest leaf

thank you

Now I see you original question I gave you irrelevant advice! Cut all flower stems out near the bottom, but its not critical - just don't let them waste their energy on flowers!

Cut out completely or the rhubarb will put all its efforts into producing a flower when you want the stems from the leaves.

How do I say thanks?
