Please name this Orchid

Hampshire, United Kingdom Gb

I have just been given this Orchid and despite searching cannot identify. Lycaste seemed nearest but ?. I had never grown Orchids till last year. When I lost several from the same friend.

Sorry, Poaannua, but I googled 'Lycaste' and they don't resemble yours in some respects.

Are you sure it isn't a miniature Phalaenosis? I have one which is very similar.

What are you doing to them to kill them off???

Thank you Spritz. Yes I see they are simillar and that there are many different varieties. . I lost the others through leaving them in my Greenhouse instead of the house itself. This one and two others are staying in the house.. I will picture them later. Wish you a Happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you both. I'm gratified that even one of GoY's more knowledgeable members occasionally gets it wrong. I thought it was just me (regularly). Lol.

Merry Christmas John. With Orchids I am lost, as you will see two others were given me today and I have searched both Internet and Books without being confident of which is what. Apologies for the photos too. The pots are so full that once stabilised I haven't dared move them.

Thanks both.

Your greenhouse is DEFINITELY the wrong place for orchids - far too cold unless you are a millionaire! LOL. My Phalaenopsis are kept between 18 and 24 degrees. My Cymbidiums less than that but never less than 14 or 15 degrees.

I am so sorry but I won't have time to try to ID the others - if you haven't had responses when we get home I'll have a go.
