the salvia looks to be the farinose form Victoria, usually grown as an annual, though it is a short lived perenial. Personally i grow it from seed every year. the seed is readily avaiable.
the other plant is toad lily or tricytis [spelling all to pot sorry]

The first is Salvia farinacea, probably 'Victoria', as Sbg says. It is usually propagated by seed, but it will also grow from semi-softwood cuttings, if yours is a particularly nice one. Probably not hardy enough to live through a UK winter.

How do I say thanks?
