I have a twisted hazel in a pot and get approximately 4 nuts per year. How can I ensure I get a more bountiful crop next year?

Put it in the ground, where it will be able to expand and mature properly and produce more fruits, but bear in mind this one's really grown for its twisted stems, and only gets 10 feet high ultimately, so you're unlikely to get a massive crop.

We have ours in the ground and, as Bamboo says, see maybe 10 cob nuts in a year on it. We don't even removed them.

Oh well I'll leave them to the squirrels then and continue to buy mine in the supermarket. Thanks for the advice.

From what I hear, the twisted variety doesn't often get a big crop, anyway.

Nope it is grown as an ornamental.

How do I say thanks?
