I overwintered some leeks two years in a row. Each time many plants came up in bunches. I replanted the bunches as individuals. They sort of died off but them some regrew that year in bunches again. Is there an explanation for this and is there a way to have them grow as single plants? Thanks

Don't understand this. Leeks are planted out singly and grown on for harvesting either that autumn for summer ones or the following spring for winter ones. I have never heard of them dying off and growing again, and certainly never heard of them throowing up multiple stems. Do you have a photograph? Are you sure it was leeks you planted and not spring onions?
