Does a Robinia tree sprout leaves late into Spring?

By Believe

United Kingdom Gb

i have what i think is a Robinia tree in my garden. However today is the 6th may and there is not a leaf or shoot in sight. Should I assume the three is dead or can this tree produce leaves late into spring?

You don't say how large it is or where you live in the UK. They do sometimes sprout very late in spring and we had a lot of cold weather earlier on which sets them back. I haven't seen any around here with leaves as yet. But you could be in the south?

I live in the midlands and the tree in question is approx 25 feet tall. it is the only tree around without a single leaf or bud!!
