Where do you site a compost bin?

I have obtained a plastic compost bin. It has a lid but no bottom, should it be sited on earth, or would it be o.k. to stand it on a concrete base? many thanks

If the site is on concrete, then you will need to add some worms. Common garden ones will do, but you can buy Red worms specifically for eating down green waste

It's best on earth and sited in the sun but if you have to site it on concrete put a layer of twigs or paper on it first.
