Happy Easter to all my goy friends!

I hope you can all enjoy it the best way you can !
Just some flowers to cheer everyone up! Alstromerias, my absolute favourite in a jug bought for me by my daughter on Mothers Day.

A few more spring flowers..

This Corinilla has never looked so good !

I love these daffs but don’t know their name!

Bellis ..always a good doer!

I love this colour !
And finally my Amalenchier which has moved homes three times and then again into this corner has flowered ! I had six of these down the Willow Cottage border and took one of these with me !
I can definitely recommend this tree which is also great for a small garden.

A closer look…

Take care everyone and stay safe !

What a very pretty jug that is Rose. Your Amelanchier is very beautiful, it has done so well.
Happy Easter to you and Rick and keep on taking lots of care.

Happy Easter to you and your family Rose. I keep recommending Amelanchier because mine has been going strong for forty years and I have a self sown seedling with lots of buds. I like alstroemerias because they last so well as cut flowers. I got a jug for Mothers Day too and am finding it a very stable flower vase. Yours is very pretty.

Thank you Shirley and Julia. And yes I am pleased it came with us Julia !
Thank you Amy and Sundais.
Thank you Seaburn g. I am getting there and can't wait for all my plants to arrive next month !
You too Chris ! Enjoy the sunshine !
Thank you Scotsgran. How did you find your seedlings of the Amalenchier? I have two large Alsromeria plants now and are starting to flower already !

The seedling grew in the raised bed west of the greenhouse. I have another in the border in the sunken garden. I thought they might be blueberry bushes although I do not grow them. The birds probably ate the berries off our tree and dumped them in the borders. Not knowing what they were I allowed them to grow on. The one next the greenhouse is now five foot high and the other is three feet high. I am not a scrupulously tidy gardener and only make a big effort to remove something sinister like Bishop weed. I have a self sown hawthorn, again a gift from the birds. I was gifted some alstroemeria roots by a neighbour of my sister. It was not invasive in her garden but I found it to be a total thug. I pull it out as soon as I see it but it just keeps coming. I buy my alstros in the supermarket. They last for weeks. That way I get a bigger choice of colour. Mine were all yellow and orange.

I am amazed about the Alstromerias, Scotsgran as I have two which I have had for quite a few years now and brought with me from Laceby. They have grown into tidy bushes and haven't taken over the garden at all. Mind you , if they had, I wouldn't mind as I then have constant flowers all summer.
Thats brilliant about the Amelenchier seedlings. What a lovely surprise when you realised what they were!

When I moved house twenty years ago I planted an amelanchier in my new garden but sadly it didn't survive. Seeing yours, Rose, I am tempted to try again, especially as the comments here suggest they are not so very difficult to grow! I do love them.

Yes, definitely try again Xela ! As long as it gets plenty of feed and watered while it is new, then it should be fine.
Thanks Waddy. You too !

Oops !!!... I missed this one Rose, lovely pics of what's in your garden, I lost my beautiful Amelanchier last year, I bought a new one but sadly even though its a very good size it didn't flower for me, haven't yet found a proper home for it....

I was encouraged to buy smaller plants because they seem to settle in more easily than bigger plants. I have found my Amelanchiers all flowered from a very small size. Is it still in its nursery pot?
