Some of the flowers that have survived the heat and drought.

Most of the flower garden has survived the hot weather, but mostly because the plum tree was so weighed down with fruit this year that it had shaded it.

Kniphofia Liitle Maid

Am really pleased with the phlox this year as it didn’t do as well last year!

Perrenial Rudbeckias doing well too!

I don’t know why, but I always forget the name of this plant!

I love this white Hydrangea!

Geranium Rozanne which I thought I had lost and has just started flowering again.

And a close up.

Dwarf Alstomeria and the only one left !
All the taller ones I lost in the heat wave, but now have just started to regrow, I am pleased to say!
I hope all your gardens have survived!

A very fresh-looking set of plants, Rose, very pretty. I've had a few Lazarus alstros this year which didn't make an appearance at all last season and I thought I'd lost them. No flowers though, but they're still with me (just!). I've also discovered an herbaceous clematis which I was very sad to 'lose' 3 years ago! And all reappearing in a drought! I can't make it out at all.. What a strange year!

Looks very colourful Rose, you've definitely managed to keep things blooming and bright through the drought and the variety of colours.

A lovely selection, and they all look so healthy ! I didn't have any success with Heleniums,or Rudbeckias, any tips on how to keep them alive,Rose ? I love your dwarf Alstro too. I'm glad a lot are starting to grow again..I must say,I feel lucky that I haven't lost any yet,but fingers crossed ! .x

It certainly has been Ange! I have quite a few clematis , but they are all apart from two in big pots and usually do well.
This year they haven't flowered or grown very tall and haven't watered or fed them as much as I would have done.
I have one Clem Tangutica which has gone mad, but no flowers!
Thanks Siris!
Thanks Kate! I think the main flower borders have survived because the plum tree was so weighed down with plums, it shaded them.
My heleniums and rudbeckias are perennial ones Sandra , apart from the huge tub you may remember seeing earlier on.
I do know that the rudbeckias sulk if they don't get enough water!
I don't understand why you have a problem with Heleniums though.
Both plants also need dead heading every day though!
Better luck next year!

I love phlox Rose and really like your lovely white one. You have a nice variety of flowers at the moment and I think your plum tree has really protected that area in your garden. The helenium is such a rich colour - perfect for the time of year.

I am much better now Sue! (Lincslass) Thank you for asking!
I don't have as much pain and can walk around the house without a stick!
A lot of the plants are picking up now as we had quite a lot of down pours last week , mainly overnight! Perfect!
Thanks Chris! I couldn't believe how the branches of the plum tree went right down to the lawn as they were weighed down with so many plums!
Very difficult to pick them all now as I daren't stand on a ladder!

You seem to have kept quite a lot of plants going, quite a lot of colour. Glad you have had a decent amount of rain & that some more of your plants are getting going again. I hope you haven’t lost too many. Also glad to hear that you are recovering from your accident, don’t go climbing up after those plums,:-)

Thank you so much Feverfew! I did have a near miss trying to get the plums though and now have to leave the rest to drop off!
Rain all day today! So the plants will be happy!
