The garden early June

I am really pleased how the majority of the garden is doing.
Back in March/ April the front border looked like this:

It now looks like this, until the rain batters it that is.

The foxtail lily is doing very well. it was sold as pink but hey ho!

Atrocity corner is also looking well with the Nectoscordum in full flower.

And this coral pink paeony Hawian coral or some such: must check back.

This will do for now as I have to go sewing.

Isn't it amazing! You can go out in early Spring and look at all the bare patches and it never ceases to amaze just how much the space disappears, in your case into a glorious border. Your Nectaroscordum is in flower, not sure mine is! When it stop raining I shall have to have a look.

What a transformation! It doesn't seem more than a few days since you were working so hard to tidy it up does it?

Stunning borders Seaburngirl. Lovely to have the photos taken in spring to get a comparison.

Thanks for the complements. I look at it in spring and then think lots of gaps then it is over filled. I resisted planting lots and I am pleased I did.

it will always be atrocity corner Karen as when talking to my brother in Sunderland he knows exactly where I mean.

That’s the joy of the garden, watching it slowly wake to bring us much pleasure with all that colour, it looks lovely, so much going on with so much to look forward to.

WOW! What a transformation since March! "Atrocity Corner" is no longer an "atrocity"! 😂 The Nectaroscordum have brought much life to it!

The Foxtail Lily, even though it's not the right colour, still looks fantastic!

I love your Peony, my son gave me one for my birthday a few weeks ago & now the tightly closed buds have opened & it looks fantastic!

It never fails to surprise me how the garden fills up in May and June!

In the depths of winter it is so hard to picture it as it is now.

This year I think my favourite flower is the peony, you have a very pretty one in your lovely garden.

The Hesperus is lovely such a a dainty tall background flower mine have been wonderful but these last few days weather have damaged the show so much. Your garden is so much like mine in the type of plants but more well cared for than mine these days.

lots of plants have been battered by the torrential rain and I can hear it bouncing off the roof of the conservatory. its 10pm and it has rained all day. garden is wet enough now, it needs to stop :o).

before & after is very dramatic. I love all the drifts of colors & textures.

Thank you. That was the effect I was going for. Trying for the English Cottage Garden look.

13 Jun, 2019

Yep I think you succeeded

I agree, looks very pretty. It’s definitely the typical English cottage garden!

I changed to Cottage Garden Style after my illness, so much easier to look after Seaburn, your border and atrocity corner look absolutely lovely and both have filled out really well, you must be delighted, we've gone from desperate to nearly drowning in the last week with all the rain but the gardens are loving it....

Your border looks lovely now. I hope any recent bad weather has not spoiled it.

Quite a few of the un-staked taller plants are a little flat and have flopped over the smaller ones, but nothing that a few bamboo canes and string cant fix.

That's good .

it all looks lovely, hard to believe how quickly everything grows to fill (or in my case overfill) the bare spaces:)
