Some May favourites

The sun came out! So I dashed into the garden to take a few quick shots … my Cornus “Eddie’s White Wonder” has more bracts than I can count … after just thinking about flowering for about ten years. Photo could be better – sorry :)

Close up …

Pelargonium cuttings in the greenhouse including Quantock Candy (pink and white) and Mona Lisa (white)

Other cuttings …

Beautiful Acer ‘Moonshine’ given to me by two friends to commemorate Steve’s death (2 years ago this month – don’t be sad for me).

Libertia grandiflora

What a blessing to have a garden – I love it!

I can see why these plants give you joy, they are beautiful.
My Libertia is not flowering yet but I think buds are forming.

That Cornus is stunning.

Thanks Eileen. I thought the same about my Libertia, then it suddenly sprang to life ๐Ÿ™‚.

Thank you kindly Klahanie ๐Ÿ™‚.

Yes I think they look really pretty too and I also like the Liberia with such dainty flowers.
Here it has rained all day long and is actually quite chilly too!
Our green house is so full we can barely get into it!!!

Your greenhouse has obviously occupied you greatly during lock down, such a lot of lovely healthy cuttings.

Many thanks Chris and Sue ๐Ÿ™‚.

Itโ€™s all looking lush and very pristine, Sheila. Your pelargoniums are so healthy. Love the colours too, especially the pink/white one.
Steveโ€™s acer is a beauty. It looks a happy and colourful one.
Sending you best wishes! Gardening is definitely good medicine. ๐Ÿ’ž

Love the Acer & the Cornus. Yes, thank goodness we have our gardens & isn't lovely when we get a glimpse of the sun. It's starting off sunny this am. I hope it will last, so much rain recently.

Thank you Kate for your typically generous comments ๐Ÿ™‚. Sending you a PM.

Thanks Josee, yes, more sunshine would be very welcome!

You have such attractive plants in your garden, Sheila. I envy your Cornus and the Acer is a gem. I like the Candy pelargoniums. I have just bought a pack of bright scarlet pelargoniums because they remind me of a book I loved as a child: "The Little White Horse" by Elizabeth Goudge. Did you ever read it? They have scarlet geraniums on their kitchen windowsill in the story. That's what I shall do with one of mine!

Ange, thanks so much, youโ€™re very kind! Elizabeth Goudge is (was?) a lovely writer, but I canโ€™t remember which books of hers I read ... The House on the Hill perhaps?

Iโ€™ve just been reading How the Whale Became by Ted Hughes ... the illustrations are wonderful. Do you know it?

I love Jackie Morris illustrations if that's the version you mean, Sheila. We gave our granddaughter "The Song of the Golden Hare" a couple of years ago. It was SO beautiful.

How old was your granddaughter then, Ange? Itโ€™s tricky knowing whether they would appreciate โ€˜olderโ€™ picture books.

I think she was about 8 or 9, Sheila. I loved the book, even if she didn't!!

Thanks Hywel, yes, our gardens are such a blessing ๐Ÿ™‚.
