These seeds will grow into gorgeous sky blue flowers up to 6cm across that will appear throughout summer on this free-flowering elegant climber. Also suitable for greenhouse or conservatory growing this plant prefers a sunny sheltered and warm site ideal for warm site trellis fences and poles etc.
This is a half hardy annual which grows to a height of 2-2.5m (6-8ft). Sow the seeds March to April simply soak seeds overnight in cold water and file a tiny notch in the seed coat before sowing. These seeds will germinate at 20-30C individually in pots on the surface of a good free draining damp seed compost. Apply a layer of compost or vermiculite 6mm deep and place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination (usually 10-17 days).
Transplant seedlings into 13cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions for at least 14 days before planting out in late spring after all risk of frost. Plant out 30cm apart and remove spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooming.
