A circuit of the back garden

The back fence border.
The Olive tree is starting to produce flowers. Growing through it are shoots with small yellow flowers of Billardiera longflora.

To the right is Vestia foetida, which has been producing similar, but larger yellow flowers for a time, seems such a worthwhile evergreen shrub, Pyracantha next and Salvia Neon which has some flowering shoots up to 5ft tall.

Moving towards the Garage corner

Here the evening sun seat underneath a pergola with a Clematis viticella Alba, not in flower.

Looking from the corner entry to the back garden there are a couple of pear trees, underneath which I am developing a shady alpine area.

Work in progress

On the other side is the shady conservatory border.
To be continued…..

That's a lovely cottagey border. Yo deserve a nice sit down in that shady seat after all your hard work!

I totally agree Stera. Lovely Siris. I notice your Welsh poppies are yellow, mine are all orange. I love the little path to your seat under the pergola.

Very pretty mix of colours and plants.

Thanks Stera, I dont sit down nearly enough.
SBG, Ive got orange Welsh Poppies as well. I had doubles too but the singles have outgrown them over the years.
The path is made from pebbles collevted from the garden. We are on plateau gravel, over clay, had builders rubble on top! The old name around here was Spring Hill.

You have a proper Cottage Garden Siris, great choice of plants and the little pathway between the beds sets it off, I love it, can't wait to see the other side.

I love the cottage garden look of your garden. I love the beds so full of interesting and attractive plants. It must give you immense pleasure to potter in this garden you have created over the years.

You have some pretty areas as well as unusual plants!
Billardiera ! I have never heard of this one!

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Everything seems to have grown so well this year, well perhaps not everything. I do seem to have had some losses, that is no emergence, but maybe I'm being impatient.

Oh my goodness, what an amazing collection of plants you have, and such interesting new-to-me ones, too.

You have the most interesting and colourful cottage garden I’ve seen, Sue! I do get to see a lot on my travels. Loving your olive! I’m quite pleased with how ours is progressing.

All your plants seem to be growing so well, it’s all looks so lush & colourful. I like the the little windy path & your seat for the evening sun.

You have created such a pretty and colourful garden and I too love the position of your seat for the evening sunshine. We have one in a similar position and so often I am just too late!!
