That Was Then And This Is Now

Hello. First blog post. :)
I’d like to introduce the Horniman Museum and Gardens, the progress of which I will be documenting here. I’m a full time volunteer there, with view to apprenticeship next year. I’ve been there a month and so much has changed. We’ve done a lot, as many hands make light work. Though there’s not enough hands, or funds, haha, but we’re getting there.

I thought I’d share the divine planting that filled the space that is now a construction site. These photos were taken last year, almost exactly a year ago now.

Wonderful, wasn’t it?
This is the same place now.

Actually that was a month ago. We’ve done a lot since then. All of the plants were carefully removed and are still being tended in the nursery. No bulldozing!

A billion more things to say.

Grass is growing.

Thank you very much, everyone. So kind! <3
@Franny, it's usually my job to do the edging, weeding, pruning and deadheading in that very wedding area. Can't wait to get trained up on the mower though! x

It's very lovely, her photos were beautiful... Don't go over the flower beds when you're learning to drive the mower! Lol :) x

Welcome to GoY Tralamander...those pictures were lovely. I am looking forward to seeing the developments.
I will give you the same tip as Franny
Caution with the mower!!!

There are enough fields for me to not be a danger to anthing or anyone else. Also I'm much more confident with a petrol one (which this is) than an electric one where every moment you're moving that cord out of the way for fear of serious injury!
Thanks very much, Franny and Scottish. <3

Thanks Hywel, sadly funds and contractors and the onset of winter are making things difficult and my take a while longer. In the end it'll be a better educational resource than it was, tying into the museum, but I hope it retains its character. :)
