Easter Holiday

Well I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to the Easter Holiday. If the weather stays dry, I get to add a few plants to what is going to be my hot tropical area at the top of my garden.

After I have finished adding plants to what is going to be my tropical area. I can then concentrate on making my border in front of this garage wider. Filling it with mases of cottage garden perinnials, fox gloves, lupins, delphiniums etc.

Then comes the joyus task of fence panels. I have yet to brave the masses of B&Q, Homebase and Wicks followers on their annual easter pilgrimage, but like everyone else I do require two fence panels.

This is part of the fence that really needs replacing, but as I do it i have approached the chap next door to clear away some of his overgrown shrubs.
So hopefully whilst all the good christians will be at church, and all the chocohollics will be feasting, I shall be hard at it in the garden.
Obviously if it is raining I shall be in the greenhouse, as well as the garden centre doing what I like doing best looking at and buying the odd bargin or to.
Enjoy you’re Easter Holiday.

It appears you have some lovely garden walls...will you be looking for climbers? Ah the rites of Spring! Happy Easter!!

A tree fern might look spectacular in your tropical area to give some height and it might be protected in that setting. Good luck with your projects and happy gardening over the Easter holiday.
The old brick wall looks interesting as Lori mentioned.
I agree with her comment--- a climber would look good.

Ah.........Easter - the busiest gardening weekend of the year, except that is so early this time. I usually get a bit of a suntan at Easter. This year, I'm more likely to get a bad bout of "Fireside Tartan" (anyone heard this one?) from hogging the heater in the greenhouse - whilst devouring the chocolate, of course. Looking forward to seeing pics of your tropical border (I'll probably still be in my greenhouse with the heater on when it matures, lol). Happy Easter - have a great one, whatever you do!

Nice wall - shame about the fence! lol. You are going to hve fun - once the fence has gone - it's the best bit, choosing and planting, isn't it. By the way, don't forget that Garden Centres etc have to close on Easter Sunday!

I love your garden walls. I also noticed your rain catching barell. I was just looking at them this morning for sale in a gardening magazine. I especially like the ones like you have with the faucet. Well now this is the USA for you. NOTHING closes here on Easter Sunday. I much preffered it when many places were closed.

I have two different Clematis, Honey suckle, Wisteria, Grape and a Abutilon all in pots looking for a home somewhere in the garden. The walls as well as the two posts for my hamock are going to recieve a climber or two.
Looking at getting an Archway for part of the garden as well. Extra height/colour etc.
Tree fern would look good by one of my walls for the tropical bed, but I have three and I'll have to convince my wife.

Just like everyone else though ~I might be in the greenhouse listening to the rain.

I got hailed on this morning, then soaked by cold rain this afternoon, (going across to the greenhouse) plus we've had another gale. What next, I ask myself? I did manage to plant three Dahlia 'Bishop of Llandaff' in a BIG pot and tucked it safely into the coldfame which is now full.
