Just an aside - didn’t Camilla look beautiful today?

This IS a gardening blog but being Coronation Day I just wanted to say what really stuck in my mind about the whole thing ……………

A few frisky horses at the beginning.
Such a wet day in London.
A compelling ceremony from start to finish.
The vast crowds in the mall.
The parade in the grounds of Buckingham Palace,
How lovely Camilla looked.

Please add to my list.

Now a few photos of our garden this afternoon when the sun actually came out

A new saxifrage in a pot.

A new hebe planted by the pond

Bluebells are at their best but are hard work when tidying up time arrives!

Apple blossom just coming out.

As is the lilac blossom too!

The beech hedge is very pretty.

The bees are very happy!

My summer pots have come out of the greenhouse.

Next we have what we call our secret garden which is tucked away behind rambling roses on what used to be just a piece of waste land.

It WAS a special day today though!

Chris, you're garden is looking so pretty this May! Loving all the colours! Smashing crop of bluebells too, so vivid. All your blossoms are looking gorgeous, the beech hedging - which I love to see on my travels for work - is lush!
Good to see your greenhouse pots are out and ready to acclimatise, all looking healthy.
I do love how your secret garden has evolved! I'd loved to meander up the little path to see the hidden, verdant treasures...
Thanks for the enjoyable tour.
Ps. Yes, Camilla looked so lovely, as did Kate and Sophie. We enjoyed the day, which we followed by gardening out front and back until teatime.
We were fortunate our weather was dry here, muggy and some sunshine..

I thought the one royal with real class was Princess Anne..

Lovely spring pictures, Chris.

Chris, I didn't watch any of it but the newspaper today features some excellent photos from the occasion ... my favourite outfit vote goes to Penny Mordaunt.

I have really enjoyed viewing the photos of your lovely garden ... everything looks so healthy!

Penny Mordaunt looked spectacular. She was my favourite. That sword weighed over 3kg and she held it for over 2 hours! Also…I really only watch these events for the Sacred Music. England is just so excellent at it and it makes my heart sing to hear the choirs and orchestras, and on this rare occasion a faultless fanfare!

I enjoyed every minute of it! I was moved to see the emotion on the King's face as the ceremony proceeded and the solist was great. A reight good do.

Love your wild garden with the ferns & little path through.
I enjoyed watching the coronation too. We do pageantry very well in the uk & a it is good to have something so uplifting when the News is mostly dire. I enjoyed the music too, even the gospel choir which I don’t normally like, but
it was very beautifully restrained/contained.
